In the small nation of Estonia culture and nature are going hand in hand. It forms the root the identity of its people from which great and internationally respected artists emerge. Among them is Neeme Järvi and his son Paavo Järvi, who return every summer with their family to their homeland, to performe in these inspirational surroundings and to teach conducting students from all over the world.
Since 2008 also Paavo's teacher, Leonid Grin, teaches in the Summer Academy and has its own masterclass in Winter. Since 2010 the a Winter Masterclass is offered providing intensive training with orchestra and several, most talented students are selected to take part in the Summer Academy.
The Järvi Academy takes traditionally place in Pärnu, Estonia’s most beautiful summer resort. Students will be selected to work with Pärnu City Orchestra, the Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra, its Chamber Orchestra and other ensembles and orchestras. Students get the oppertunity to perform with orchestra on several locations, such as Estonia’s best concert hall.
