1. Application
Conductors of both sexes born after the 1st January 1970 are invited to take part in the Neeme Järvi International Masterclass for Conductors. The applications including all requested documents, video and application fee must be received by the masterclass office by April 15th 2010.
The applications must be accompanied by the following documents (in English):
- Application form, filled out and signed (online or printout of the online application)
- Copy of certificates of musical education mentioned in the application form
- DVD with recordings of max. 20 minutes of representative conducting sessions (live rehearsal and/or concert)
- Three different recent photos in jpg-format (by email)
- Photocopy of passport or ID-card (with translation if necessary)
- The application fee of 50 Euro for EU residents or 40 Euro for not EU residents.
Please note that the documents will not be returned!
Incomplete applications or application received after 15th April 2010, will not be taken into consideration. Payment of the application fee must be in the masterclass bank account before the same date, 15th April 2010.
Applicants are requested to answer all question concerning education and CV by filling out the application form. Additional documents, such as CV or biography, as well as copies of documents other then requested will not be taken into consideration. Documents may be sent by email.

2. Admission
On the basis of the applications submitted, candidates will be invited to the participate in the masterclass.
The successful applicants will be invited by 20th May 2010 per email. They must confirm their participation by email and payment of the participation fee before 1st June 2010. Without confirmation before this date, the applicant will be automatically excluded from participation. The vacant place(s) will be offered to a next selected applicant.
3. Participation
All participants are invited to fully participate in all activities of the masterclass. Passive participants can take part in all the masterclass activities except conducting the orchestra sessions. The jury has the right to make a selection of candidates conducting in the concerts. All participant need to obtain their own scores, study and prepare them for the masterclass rehearsals and other sessions.

All active participants are provided with accommodation in Pärnu and Leigo during the days of the masterclass.
The organizers reserve the right of radio and television broadcast. The participants are not entitled to demand any charge for the utilization of such recordings.
4. The Jury

e. Toomas Kapten: professor, chairman of conducting department of Music and Theatre Academy of Estonia
f. Jüri-Ruut Kangur, Principal Conductor of Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra, director of Summer Academy
The jury will make a pre-selection, that will be presented to Neeme Järvi and Leonid Grin, who will have to final decision in selecting the active participants. Not selected candidates may still take part as passive participant.
5. Scholarship
A participant can apply for a 'Järvi course scholarship', in special occasions. This scholarship will be awarded to (a) very talented participant(s) to cover a large amount of the masterclass costs. More information can be required from the masterclass office. We strongly recommend to apply to student funds in your own country first.
6. Fees
Applicants living within the EU economical area (Euro countries and some others) can pay the application fee per international bank transfer without costs. Applicants who are not living within the EU economical area, are advised to pay by Western Union, because of the high costs of an international bank transfer. Unfortunately the costs of paying by credit card or paypal are to high to offer you these options. For further questions please contact us.
